Tasting - Peju Chardonay

Image
Name: Peju Chardonay Variety: Chardonay Region: Nappa Valley Country: United States Year: 2023 Price: $35 Winery Review: " Our 2023 Napa Valley Chardonnay enchants from the first swirl with its pale golden hue, and aromatics of bright lemon curd, subtle wet stone minerality, and ripe pear. The palate unfolds with a luxurious embrace of creamy vanilla and a subtle essence of butter that introduces a hint of richness, all seamlessly integrated from careful French oak aging. A burst of key lime zest adds a refreshing brightness and is complemented by delicate toffee notes that linger on the finish. The wine's structural integrity is maintained by a thread of crisp acidity, ensuring balance and harmony. " Wine Folly:  Chardonnay is one of the world’s most popular grapes, thanks to its number of different styles. You’ll find everything from lean and chalky to rich, creamy and aged in oak, and even some of the world’s finest sparkling wine too. My Review: I enjoyed drinking thi...

Tasting - Stella Mia Prosecco

Image
Name: Stella Mia Prosecco Variety: Prosecco Sparkling Wine Region: Sicily   Country: Italy Year: 2023 Price: $15 Winery Review: Pale straw color. Aromas of dried lemon, diced pear, straw, and bread dough with a supple, bright, dryish light body and a sleek, breezy panettone finish with no oak flavor. An easy-drinking Prosecco quaffer for anytime indulging. Wine Folly:  Prosecco is one of Italy's most beloved sparkling wines. Made primarily from the Glera grape (formerly known as Prosecco), it is generally made in two styles, frizzante (lightly sparkling) or as a traditional sparkling wine. My Review: I enjoyed the light bubbly taste of the prosecco and also liked the fruity flavors that made it easy to drink. After a couple glasses I did however get kind of it but by then the bottle was finished

tasting- sauvignon blanc

Name: Cupcake Sauvignon Blanc Variety: Sauvignon Blanc Region: Marlborough Country: New Zealand Year: 2023 Price: $10 Winery Review: " Our Sauvignon Blanc is a vibrant, crisp wine that comes from vineyards in the South Island of New Zealand, where the cool growing season allows our grapes to mature slowly and gain character and complexity. Flavors of Meyer lemon, white nectarine and key lime integrate with subtle hints of grapefruit, gooseberry and citrus, culminating into a long, balanced finish. Pair oysters on the half shell, creamy lobster risotto or a picnic in the park." Wine Folly: In pages 165 and 166, which reference Sauvignon Blanc and varieties that are grown in New Zealand, I found that the discusses flavors of typical  Sauvignon Blancs can be found in this wine, specifically grapefruit. However, I could not pick up on some of the more common regional notes. My Review: I thought that this wine had a much flatter taste than other whites I have tried. There were hi...

Tasting- Pinot Grigio

Image
The wine tasted today was a Pinot Grigio made by Barefoot in 2021 the price was 9.99 Region: Modesto California, USA A winery review of this wine was described as having a "Light body" as well as tastes of green apples and peach. This is accented with floral notes and pairs well with poultry and pasta. My Review: I enjoyed this wine due to its light and fruity profile. I drank this wine chilled, as is recommended by the winery. I was able to pick up some of the flavors of apple and citrus. Wine Folly: Page 149 of Wine Folly discusses the wine as being able to have a spectrum of sweetness. I found that this bottle of wine resembled flavors discusses such as citrus and peach.
